Roisin is proud and extremely privileged to be a midwife and loves being a RAMP. The autonomy and extended scope of practice to provide a full episode of care from booking to postnatal discharge is extremely satisfying. Being able to provide individualised care, empower women and guide them through their decision making and see them leaving hospital with their new family member is extremely satisfying. The yearly statistics since the introduction of the service, demonstrate that the original RAMP vision of increasing the vaginal birth rate in SUH continues to be achieved but not to the detriment or safety of the women and the babies.
