Dr Kathleen Nallen

Kathleen is a Midwife Lecturer and Midwifery Programmes Director at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT). She is a qualified nurse, midwife and tutor with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). She completed her Doctorate in Midwifery through Queen’s University Belfast in 2016. Her research study focused on evaluating Higher Diploma in Midwifery graduates’ views of the impact of Enquiry Based Learning (EBL) on clinical practice.
Kathleen is also Programme Director for the Certificate in the Fundamentals of Understanding and Responding to Domestic Abuse delivered by DkIT. In September 2019, she co-presented a research paper at the 3rd European Conference On Domestic Violence in Oslo and was the lead co-ordinator of the ‘Changing Landscape of Domestic Abuse – a Multiagency Perspective’ Conference hosted by DkIT in October 2019.
