Denise is a Lecturer in Midwifery/Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems, University College Dublin. Denise has over 10 years experience as an IBCLC (Lactation Consultant ) in a large maternity hospital. Denise’s MSc Research explored the experiences of bereaved women as they suppressed lactation following neonatal loss.
Denise received a Clinical Research Fellowship in Palliative care in 2015. Denise is currently leading on the “Latch On” study, a multi-centre randomised controlled trial of perinatal support to improve breastfeeding outcomes in women with raised BMI and research involving Antenatal Colostrum Harvesting among women with diabetes.
