The Maternity & Midwifery Forum, in partnership with 5 different charities around the UK, is launching a new scheme to raise money for worthy charities AND to get students who otherwise would not be able to attend our Maternity & Midwifery Festivals to take part in on-campus live streaming parties.

This will be an opportunity for you and your students to raise money for charity (who doesn’t love a cake sale?!) to learn from the number of leading midwifery experts who will be speaking at the event, and to promote your Midwifery Society within the university.

All you would need to do is:

  • find a room to show the live-stream in – we’ll send you the link in advance, and be on hand to provide technical support if needed
  • promote your ‘live-streaming party’ to students – we’ll send you as much promotional material as we can to help with this
  • provide us with a name and address for the charity to send things to (goodies, informational leaflets, collection buckets, etc).

We will provide the full festival line-up in advance, as well as a short video from the charity, introducing themselves and the live stream. How you choose to run the day – as a formal lecture and networking session or a drop-in event (with cake) – is up to you!

This would be a great project for a student to have on their CV, plus the lectures count towards revalidation for any midwives who take part.

As a grieving family the 4Louis team decided they wanted to do something to help make a devastating experience a little more bearable by letting families know they are not alone.

They do this by providing hospitals, hospices and funeral directors across the U.K with memory boxes, for families who suffer the trauma of miscarriage, stillbirth, infant and child death up to the age of 18.

4Louis have progressed over the years and have now provided over 160 Cuddle cot units to allow the families to spend extra precious time with their little ones. They have helped and funded Study days and many bereavement suites within hospital maternity and neonatal units as well as providing funding for study days.
