Your opportunity to share your work with colleagues from around the UK. We are looking for papers that demonstrate best practice and research particularly, but not exclusively, in the following areas:

  • Improving care for women and babies
  • The Global midwife
  • Improving practice through research and innovation
  • The changing role of the midwife
  • Public health initiatives
  • Postnatal care – the jewel of the midwife’s role?
  • Student perspectives – The student midwife experience and viewpoint
  • Maternal voices

There are two types of session:

Verbal Presentation

Visual Presentation

To submit an abstract of no more than 300 words use the form on this page or send an email including the information below to karen.stewart@neilstewartassociates.co.uk with your abstract attached as a word document.

Maternity & Midwifery Forum Paper Submission Form

  • Your abstract should reflect the overall theme of the forum, showcasing new ways of working, innovations and technologies to enhance the services healthcare professionals are increasingly bringing to the community. It should fit into one of the programme themes and can be research based or a best practice case study.
  • Please attach your conference paper in word format (doc, docx) along with any accompanying images (jpeg, jpg, png)

Abstract Submissions

Abstracts are invited for the seminars, and you may wish to design your paper as a straightforward presentation, or if your topic/project lends itself more to an interactive workshop, you need to make this very clear on your abstract submission.

You may also wish to submit a poster on the same topic, and can use the same submission process.

There are three types of session:

  • Poster presentation
  • Formal presentation – 30 minute session
  • Workshop – may be 30 minutes or 1 hour

The submission process is the same, however the content of the submission needs to reflect the type of presentation you are interested in.

Please submit your presentation via our online submission form ensuring you clearly indicate the theme you are submitting under and whether it is a poster or paper presentation. It is useful to draft your abstract, looking carefully at the word limit of 300 words; checking grammar, spelling and structure.

By making a submission of your abstract, you will need to ensure that you confirm that you or your co-author will be attending to present at the event.

Selection of Abstracts

Abstracts are invited for presentation as either a verbal or visual (poster) presentation.

All verbal presentations are 30 minutes and the room will be set up theatre style. To find out more about poster presentations, click here.

Abstracts are independently assessed and you will be notified of the outcome of this process within 2 weeks of the submission deadline.

Please be aware that when designing the seminar programme, your presentation might be allocated to a different theme than you applied for, if this fits the programme better.

Selected abstracts and full speaker names will be included in the event guide and on the event website once selected so it is really important that you confirm as soon as possible that you can present at the event.
