Elita qualified as midwife in Italy in 2010 and came to England in 2011 and joined BHRUT.
She started her work at BHRUT, as a rotational midwife, working throughout the whole Maternity Services.
Due to her passion for improving patient safety, Elita was appointed to the audit midwife position within the Maternity Clinical Governance Team. During this period Elita has completed the Supervisor of Midwives course and she was successfully appointed to the role which enabled her to support and offer guidance to midwives and women.
Elita maintains her clinical skills, doing regular shifts and working as Labour Ward Coordinator since 2015. In 2015, she was seconded to the position of Clinical Lead for Maternity HDU and Obstetric Theatres which further strengthened her clinical and management skills.
Elita’s current role is Quality Improvement and Assurance Midwife; her key responsibilities are to scope new innovative way of working as well as review existing systems and processes, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency, then evaluate and facilitate changes. Her role has enabled her to complete courses and have an in-depth understanding of project management, human factors and quality improvement approach and methodologies.
