Lindsay’s midwifery career began as a nurse in London following school. Her midwifery training in 1988 instilled a strong philosophy of women centred care leading to work in consultant and midwife led units, case loading and community culminating in her current role in education.
Lindsay campaigns for a stronger midwifery voice in regulation and led on a project raising the profile of the midwife shortage. Her research interests stem from a belief that effective interprofessional collaboration and resilient professional relationships between midwives and doctors is essential for the safety of mothers and babies in a complex, ever changing maternity climate.
