Kathryn qualified as an adult nurse from Queen Margaret University in 1999 then completed her midwifery degree in 2003 at Edinburgh Napier University. Having worked as a midwife within NHS Lothian since qualification, Kathryn now has the pleasure of working at Edinburgh Napier University as a Midwifery Lecturer. Kathryn completed her MSc in Advanced Practice with Applied Education in 2012.

Kathryn’s Masters Dissertation considered antenatal education and the educational role of community midwives. An interesting topic which highlighted issues for undergraduate midwifery training and challenges experienced in practice.

Teaching and Learning: Kathryn is extremely passionate about her teaching and learning role for midwifery and allied health professionals programmes. With recent success in achieving Senior Fellow with the Higher Education Academy, Kathryn is fully committed to ensuring that students have an exciting and positive learning experience at Edinburgh Napier University.
