Raj arrived in England with £5 in his pocket and a dream to make a real difference. The £5 is long gone, but the desire to take on new challenges has never left him.

Raj has been working in public health in the UK since 2009, in 2013 he completed a Post Graduate diploma in Social Entrepreneurship. This entrepreneurship course complimented Raj’s knowledge gained during his working career in Mumbai (India) which involved a lot of Jugaad, (a word taken from Hindi which captures the meaning of finding a low-cost solution to any problem in a efficient way). Jugaad is a new way to think constructively and differently about innovation and strategy, the Western near equivalent word to Jugaad is Bootstrapping.

Raj currently is working on commencing a control trial of a new Web App called NEW2UKhealth (https://www.new2ukhealth.com/) to help migrants understand how the UK Healthcare System works. The pilot sites of this control trial are going to be Birmingham and Kent under the sponsorship of Birmingham and Kent NHS.
