Margaret is the Manager for the Bethel Doula Service. She has a background in the healthcare sector spanning 37 years, having worked in general nursing, mental ill health, midwifery – hospital and community, neonatal intensive care, research, education, supervision and management. Margaret in her midwifery career encountered many women who were vulnerable for varied reasons, and would have welcomed the opportunity to work with women for longer periods. She supported the midwife responsible for vulnerable women in undertaking many Serious Case reviews.
Margaret has been the Doula Service Manager since April 2014, and has seen the service grown and matured. She has a passion for assisting and enabling women to achieve their dreams. She enjoys working with the women, staff team and volunteers, and continue to grow in experience and as a person. She has found it beneficial to see women grow from being dependent to being independent, volunteers achieve their dream of undertaking a course in midwifery, nursing or education.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, music of most genres, attending the theatre, cooking and entertaining, gardening and architecture.
