All-Ireland Maternity & Midwifery Festival 2020 Award Winners Announced

Maternity professionals representing all of the island of Ireland were celebrated in an highly anticipated award ceremony at the inaugural All-Ireland Maternity & Midwifery Festival yesterday.

Hosted by Maternity & Midwifery Forum at the historic Croke Park Stadium in Dublin, the All-Ireland Maternity & Midwifery Festival Awards recognise and celebrate the very finest examples of maternity and midwifery innovation, management, team work and achievement.

More than 400 midwifery professionals attended the festival awards in person with a further 600 individuals and groups from around the world watching the ceremony online via the live stream. The full awards ceremony is now available to watch on demand below.

We were delighted to receive a huge range of submissions from all corners of the island of Ireland, leaving our expert panel of judges with the incredibly tough task of whittling down so many worthy nominations to our final shortlist of 5 winners 6 highly commended nominees.

The awards were hosted by Conference Chair, Sue Macdonald and presented by Broadcaster, Publishing Entrepreneur & Human Rights Campaigner Norah Casey.

Discussing the awards, Neil Stewart, Editorial Director of Maternity & Midwifery Forum said “The strength of midwifery innovation, management, team work and achievement on the island of Ireland is impressive, vibrant and internationally relevant – we are delighted to recognise and celebrate the individuals, teams and organisations who have done so much to contribute to the development of excellence in maternity care.”
